Brenda Kay Randolph Storie Philbeck

Brenda Kay Randolph Storie Philbeck, of Boiling Springs, passed peacefully in her home on April 9, 2021.

Born July 27, 1945, daughter of the late Willie and Carrie Whitener Randolph.

Preceded in death by her brothers: Willie Randolph Jr., Nat Randolph, Joe Randolph, Perry Randolph, Roger Randolph, and her sisters: Mildred Swanson, Ellen Ollis, Ann Oaks.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Brian R. Philbeck; her children, Janie Storie-Curry and husband, Brian Curry of Kings Mountain, Denita Storie Greene and husband, Chris Greene of Shelby, and Retired Senior Chief John Storie Jr. and wife, Susan Parsons Storie of Jacksonville, Florida; her step-children, Brian J. Philbeck and wife Amanda Philbeck of Fort Mill, SC, and Simon Philbeck of Kings Mountain; her grandchildren, Amber Storie Smith and husband, Nathan Smith of Ballston Lake, New York, Ashley Storie Hamilton and husband, Brian Hamilton of Tallahassee, Florida, Jordan Greene and wife, Suzannah Greene of Shelby, Jasa Greene of Shelby, Kali Greene Brooks and husband, Tyler Brooks of Shelby, Tanna Curry of Shelby; her step-grandchildren, Alex and Grayson Philbeck of Fort Mill, SC; her great-grandchildren, Aislyn & Brodi Hamilton of Tallahassee, Florida, Cutler & Briggs Greene of Shelby; a special great, great nephew, Dylan Cooper of Shelby; her sisters, Marie Sanders of Lenoir, Maxine Lail of Dudley Shoals; her mother-in-law, Connie Philbeck; her sister-in-law, Barbara Williams; and her longtime friend of 41 years, Gwen Nix. She is also survived by her 21 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Brenda was an excellent cook and was well-known for her homemade biscuits and fried apple pies. She enjoyed hosting meals for her large family, and everyone was welcome at her table.

Brenda enjoyed working with children in Cleveland County Schools. She also enjoyed a long membership in Parents Without Partners while participating and being involved with her children and other members' children.

She was retired from PPG after 28 years of service. She enjoyed her co-workers and had fond memories of her time there.

Brenda was the life of the party and enjoyed going dancing with her friends. She had a positive outlook on her life and looked for the best in people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Trinity Baptist Church, 746 Trinity Church Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114 at 6:00 PM with Pastor Dr. Robert Parsons officiating and Speaker John Storie.
