Brenda Thornburg Thomas, 78, of Gainesvile, FL, passed away on August 19, 2019 in Gainaesville. She was born in Cleveland County to the late Fred Love Thornburg and Frances Dover Thornburg. Brenda was a 1959 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and attended Western Carolina University where she studied interior design and commercial art. She was a talented seamstress and accomplished artist. For more than 20 years, she enjoyed a career in banking, working for First National Bank in Kings Mountain and then for SunBank in Florida. Following her retirement from the banking industry, she was also employed with the Alachua County Schools for 20 years as a bus driver. Brenda loved the Lord, her family and enjoyed working with people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
