Mrs. Florine "Tag" Hush Hopper departed this life on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby, NC. She was born on March 30, 1929 in Jackson County, GA to the late Eli Hush and Mag Pettyjohn Hush.

"Tag" as she was known by many retired from Hickory White Furniture Company after 19 years of employment and became a caregiver until her health declined. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lawndale. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Bill Hopper; a daughter, Cindy Cowans; eight brothers and three sisters, one of which was her twin, Corine.

Left to cherish her memory are her children including five daughters,Lorine Hopper and Janie Hush both of the home, Eunice Brown (Richard), Dora Sanford and Mary Hunt (Lemuel) all of Shelby; two sons, Minister Melvin Hush (Helen) of Shelby and Edward Hopper (Patricia) of Hickory, NC; one sister, Janie Famble of Lawndale, NC; twenty grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great grandchildren; a special son, Quincy Hush reared in the home; special grandson, Keon Hunt; a special great-grandson, Aiden Hush "My Baby"; a special aunt, Rosa Hopper of Lawndale, NC; a special friend, Ruth Ross of Shelby; six brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Lawndale.NC. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM at the church. Condolences can be expressed online at
