Herman "JR" Queen 66, of Kings Mountain, passed away on July 11, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.
He was born December 26, 1954, in Cleveland County, son of the late Herman Queen Sr. and Hazel Carroll Queen.
Herman attended Eight Street Church of God in Bessemer City. He was a child of God and he worshipped God all the time.
He never met a stranger and was a very charitable person. He donated often to different charities and was a blood donor.
He loved his family very much.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Eighth Street Church of God, 906 South 18th Street Bessemer City, officiated by the Rev. Ronnie Pendleton and the Rev. John Heath.
Burial will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.
Herman is survived by his sons, Joseph Herman Queen and Brian Ware; brother, Darrell Queen; sisters, Phyllis Darby and husband Hoyt, Teresa Whetstine and husband Ray; several nieces and nephews.
