Local Fishing Report

Cleveland County Bass Club fished their October tournament at Lake Tillery on October 8th. We started at 7:00 am, still a little dark, and fished until 3:00 pm. We had to share the lake with a few other club tournaments, but it wasn't to bad. It was pretty windy on the lake and made the day a little tough. I know we tried to find coves to get a break from the wind. Water temp was at 74 degrees. The weather should have been perfect for a good bite, but the day proved it was hard to find keepers. Just about everyone said they caught plenty, but they were not of size. Congratulations to the top five!

Here are results.

• 1st place - Roger Beaver - 5 fish, 7.78 lbs.

• 2nd place - Derek Barkley - 3 fish, 5.98 lbs.

• 3rd place - Jamie Canipe - 2 fish, 5.78 lbs.

Who also took big fish with a 3.32 pounder.

• 4th place - Jimmy Melton - 2 fish, 3.74 lbs.

• 5th place - Tammy Willis Melton - 2 fish, 3.24 lbs.

November tournament is at Lookout Shoals

I wanted to update everyone about the High School fishing tournament from October 1st. Unfortunately the tournament was canceled due to Hurricane Ian making land fall and the risk of unsafe conditions of high winds and heavy rain.

There are plans to reschedule but the date has not yet been updated. They are scheduled for Lake James, October 22nd.

I am always looking for any fishing reports and pictures from you to share.
