Annie Geraldine “Jerri” Moore Carpenter, 80, peacefully went to be with our Lord surrounded by her loving children on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at home.  A native of Cleveland County she was the daughter of the late Lillie Mae Thrift and step-father Clarence Thrift.  She was also preceded in death by her husband William Harold Carpenter and son Harold Kenneth Carpenter.  Jerri loved spending time with her family.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a self-employed caterer and taught cake decorating classes at Cleveland Community College.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Jerri is survived by her children, Dianne Blanton and husband Danny, Keith Carpenter and wife Barbara, Karla Spangler and hisband Roger, Lori Wellmon and husband Tim, all of Shelby; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  The Rev. Greg Martin will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30pm on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home.  At other times the family will be at the home.
