Jack Jones, 79, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.  A native of Cleveland County he was the son of the late Max Buren and Idella Greene Jones.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dolly Furr Jones; three sisters, Rosalyn Holland, Nell Southard, Elizabeth Panther; three brothers, Miles, William and George Jones; and one great grandchild, Robbie Bernat.  Mr. Jones was a mechanic for 52 years and during that time operated his own shop named Jones Garage for 32 years.  He was a member of Lattimore Baptist Church.  His interests included bee keeping and fishing.  He loved life and lived his to the fullest.

Mr. Jones is survived by two sons, Todd Jones and Marty Jones, both of Lattimore; two daughters, Robin Cogdell and husband Bobby of Lattimore, Jackie Ballenger and husband John of Shelby; a sister, Mary Pannell of Ellenboro; daughter-in-law, Nikki Jones; grandchildren, Brandy Bernat, Michael Cogdell, Jamie Ballenger, Alex Ballenger, Dustin Jones, Carlie Jones, Jennie Jones, Morgan Jones; great grandchildren, Cassie Cogdell, Will Cogdell, Taylor Cogdell.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Lattimore Baptist Church.  The Dr. Max Burgin will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  At other times the family will be at the home in Lattimore.
