John Wesley “Buster” Kelly, 55, of 517 Kings Road, died on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at home.  A native of Cleveland County, NC, he is the son of the late J. D. and Gladys McSwain Kelly.  He is also preceded in death by an infant sister, Gladys Kelly.  Mr. Kelly was a self-employed photographer.  He was a photographer and videographer for WSOC-9 and WBTV-3.   He enjoyed golf and woodworking and was a member of Lafayette Street United Methodist Church.

Mr. Kelly is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Lynn Turner Kelly; a daughter, Melissa Kelly Carpenter husband Curtis Wayne of Shelby; a sister, Sandy Blanton of Polkville; two aunts, Edith Kelly and Maude Whisnant of Shelby.

A funeral service will be held at 4:30pm on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Lafayette Street United Methodist Church in Shelby.  The family will receive friends from 3:30 – 4:30pm prior to the service in the sanctuary.  Dr. Tom Stegald and Rev. Owen Peeler will be officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
