Lillian Marie Smith Guettler, age 69, of Rutherfordton, died Wednesday, October 3 at Hospice House. A native of St. Lucie County, FL, she was the daughter of the late Jimps and Marie Christiansen Smith. She was a coder for medical records and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bernard N. Guettler of the home; sons, Vincent P. Guettler of Rutherfordton, Maj. David B. Guettler and wife Jennifer of Palm Bay, FL, and Thomas E. Guettler of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Becky Kruger of Palm Bay, FL, Linda McConnell of Port St. Lucie, FL and Margaret Smith of Ft. Pierce, FL; grandchildren Caitlyn L. Guettler and Brian G. Guettler of Palm Bay, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Smith.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10AM Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The family will receive friends 6 PM Friday at Crowe’s Mortuary with the Rosary at 7 PM.
