Sylvester Byrd, 72, of 222 Creekwood Rd., Lawndale, died Wednesday, October
5, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center - Charlotte in Charlotte.

Born October 23, 1938 in Cleveland County he was a son of the late Floyd
Franklin Byrd and Magiline Auton Byrd.  

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi
Bivens.

Survivors: include his wife Sylvia Johnson Byrd; three sons, William Byrd,
Bobby Byrd and David Byrd and wife, Michelle all of Lawndale; three
grandchildren, Nicolas, Taylor and Austin Byrd; and three sisters, Juanita
Bowen, Margie Helms and Mary Jane Sisk all of Lincolnton.

Visitation: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, Saturday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.

Graveside Service: 3:00 PM, Saturday at Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemtery
