Dr. A.V. Lowrance, 82, of Shelby, NC passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012. Services were held at Cornerstone Baptist Church. Burial was held in Cleveland Memorial Park.

Mr. Lowrance was preceded in death by his parents, William Frank Lowrance and  Frances Short Lowrance; brothers:Burgin Lowrance and  Fred Lowrance; sisters: Jocie Philbeck, Darcas Philbeck, Carrie Bowen and Minnie Cook; grandchildren: Jonathan Mat-thew Hope and  Stephanie Lowery; great-grandson Jason Peace Hope and son-in-law Dick Brooks. 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sarah Owens Lowrance of Shelby; daughters: Dianne Whisnant and  husband John of Shelby; Teresa Brooks of Woodruff, SC; son: Roger Lowrance and wife Suzy of Shelby; stepdaughter: Diane Nichols and  husband Fred of Gastonia; stepdaughter: Sheila Wall and husband David of Shelby; stepsons: Reid Hope and wife Debra of Boiling Springs; Mike Hope and wife Kathy of Gastonia; Jimmy Hope and wife Brenda of Waco; Joey Hope and  wife Annette of Boiling Springs; brothers: Charles Lowrance and wife Brenda of Kings Mountain; Lawrence Lowrance and  wife Estelle of Lawndale; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
