Born September 3, 1914 in Lincoln County she was a daughter of the late Tola Houser and Della Leatherman Houser. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Roseman Canipe; seven brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Gizowski and husband, Scott of Vale; grandson, Clay Gizowski and three sisters, Veda Willis of Hickory, Ollie Pendleton of Cherryville and Kimmie Leatherman of Lincolnton. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Cardinal Health Care for their compassion. Visitation: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Vale Funeral Service: 3:00 PM, Thursday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Vale Officiating: Rev. Don Willis, Rev. Steve Houser and Rev. Jeremy Mahaffey Burial will follow in Mt.
