Annual CRMC Walk For Hope, Sat., Sept. 14
The CRMC Walk for Hope is a community wide fundraising event. Monies raised by sponsors and teams will provide financial assistance to patients during their cancer treatment. According to the latest data on giving, people want to give where they can actually see their money work. This is a unique element to the Because We Care Fund. All monies raised stay in Cleveland County and are managed through the hospital foundation to help patients directly. Since its inception 6 years ago, the Because We Care Fund has been able to help numerous patients with medicines, transportation, medical bills, rent/mortgage, utilities, food and much more. Research tells us that cancer patients encounter great amounts of physical and emotional distress. Frequently added to this distress is a large financial burden. Because We Care exists for those who may have exhausted other means of assistance through either state or local agencies and may be eligible for financial support through this special fund. The 6th annual Walk for Hope will take place on Saturday, September 14th at 9am at the court square in uptown Shelby. Everyone is invited to participate in a 2 mile leisure walk and hear the presentations from members of the community about their journey with cancer.
