Worship at 12:30 (Service of the Word) or at 7:00pm (Holy Communion) and receive the imposition of ashes. The sign of the ashes remind us of our human mortality and frailty and that we receive God's mercy and forgiveness. Throughout Lent they will gather in the fellowship hall on Wednesday evenings. Executive Director, Larry Wilson of this wonder children's home will share with us how the devastating disease of HIV/Aids decimated and entire generation of Kenyan children. LaLisa Carpenter is the wife of Craig, the mother of eight children (three biological and five adopted). Lalisa is currently a family nurse practitioner at McDowell Medical Center in Marion, NC. She has led several medical mission teams with Hands on Missions in Shelby, NC. Her life, like many, has had its difficulties. She watched her mother battle dementia, was herself diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. However, nothing would prepare her for the illness and death of one of her children. Join them as LaLisa discusses how God's grace has brought her through and continues to carry her through some of the darkest days of her life. New Prospect Baptist Church, Shelby New Prospect Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a Part-time Music Director and Organist to help lead an engaging time of worship for the congregation. The ideal persons should have a personal relationship with Christ.
