BB&T Insurance volunteers recently took part in the company’s fifth annual Lighthouse Project. Teams each select a project to assist a non-profit agency to complete during May or June to make a positive impact on the lives of people in need.  BB&T hopes their efforts encourage others in the community to volunteer their time and support organizations such as Hospice Cleveland County.
Volunteers donated new umbrellas, bird feeders, shepherds hooks for patient patio rooms as well as bird feed and wagons.  BB&T associates have donated over 200,000 hours in volunteer service and affected the lives of over 6 million people as part of the BB&T Lighthouse Project, since its inception in 2009.  Associates overwhelmingly voted to bring back the initiative this year.  For more information about the Lighthouse Project, go to www.bbt.com/bbt/lighthouseproject/.
