 Mrs. Billie Bookout Thornburg, 80, of 406 Oak Grove Road, Kings Mountain, NC, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010. Services were held at Patterson Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC. 

Mrs. Thornburg was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Rev. George Henry Thornburg; her parents, Dewey H. and Nellie Byars Bookout; 1 brother, Dewey H. Bookout, Jr.; and 1 sister, Hilda Heavner.

She is survived by 2 sons, Darrell D. Thornburg, Kings Mountain, NC, and Mark S. Thornburg of Grover, NC; 1 daughter, Vickie T. Hicks and husband Glenn of Kings Mountain, NC; 1 sister, Kathleen Herndon of Kings Mountain, NC; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Patterson Grove Baptist Church, Building Fund, 301 Oak Grove Road, Kings Mountain, NC; or to: White Oak Manor, Activities Dept., 716 Sipes Street, Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
