Billy Dean "Jake" Parker, 86, passed away January 29, 2025, at Atrium-Lincolnton.

A native of Cleveland County, he was born to the late Perry Green Parker and Ethel
Morrison Parker. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife,
Rachel Wright Parker, brothers James Allen "Buck" Parker (Lillian), Robert Lee "Boots"
Parker (Maggie), Jesse Jack Parker, AC "Tom" Parker (Joyce), PG "Speed" Parker
(Lib), sister Joanne Parker Nanney (Martin) and sister-in-law Jo Haynes Parker.

He is survived by his daughter Sherrie Parker Geer and husband Rick of Fallston, a
granddaughter, who was his pride and joy, Kaley Geer Crump and her husband Logan
of Shelby, brother Glenn Odell "Vop" Parker and sisters Margaret Parker Williams of
Greensboro, Jewell Aileen "Susie" Clark of Shelby, Mary Parker Denton of Lattimore,
Betty Parker Greene (Herb) of Granite Falls and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jake worked as a plumber/electrician before starting in the textile industry. He retired
from Doran Textiles. He was a shade tree mechanic and could repair just about
anything, especially lawn mowers and weed eaters, until his back would no longer allow
him to work. He enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to gospel music and
watching wrestling, a love passed down from his mother. He was a member of
Northside Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 2, 2025, in the Chapel of
Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. Reverend Neal Efird, officiating. The
family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pleasant
Grove Baptist Church, Shelby, North Carolina.
