Brevard Callahan
Brevard Callahan, 85, of Shelby, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Testa Hospice House, Kings Mountain.
Born in Cleveland County, on June 20, 1939, he was a son of the late Ralph Clayton Callahan and Nancy McCurry Callahan. He was retired from Fiber Industries as a Safety Supervisor. Brevard was an active member of Oak Grove Church which he dearly loved.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Blackburn Callahan; son, Robert Callahan; stepmother, Ruth Justice Callahan, daughter-in-law, Trina Callahan; brother, Charles Callahan; and sister Maultie Ann Bridges.
He is survived by his daughter, Tonie Turner (Macky) of Shelby; brothers, Steve Callahan (Doris) and Eddie Callahan (Angi) of Shelby; sister, Carolyn Price (Walt) of Shelby; grandchildrens, Derrick Callahan (Melissa), Chris Callahan (Tamara), and Brandy Turner (Jennings Connell), and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
The family will host a biscuit breakfast in the Oak Grove Church Fellowship Hall, 418 Oak Grove-Clover Hill Church Road, Lawndale, NC 28090, in honor of Brevard on Saturday morning, August 3, 2024, beginning at 9:30 am with a time of remembrance beginning at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jamie Mosteller officiating.
