Mr. Byron Arthur Sackett, Sr., 73, of 2852 St. Mark's Church Road,
passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Sackett was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 19, 1941 a son of
the late Winfield Sackett and Elsie Emma Haeberle Sackett. He was a retired
Pharmacy Technician from Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida and also former
Chairman of the Board of Directors for James Archer Smith Hospital in
Homestead, Florida. Mr. Sackett was a former cub scout leader and little
league coach and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Cherryville.
After his retirement Mr. Sackett enjoyed wood working.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Judy McGinnis Sackett, of the home;
two sons and daughters-in-law, Byron Sackett, II and Christy of Denver and
David Sackett and Liliya of Gastonia; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dr.
Jennifer Sackett of Crouse and Donna Kostiuk and Stephan of Cherryville; two
brothers, Roy Sackett of Cherryville and Glen Sackett of Burlington,
Vermont; two sisters, Wilma Bosse of Severn, Maryland and Dale Sackett of
Baltimore, Maryland; six grandchildren, Stephan Sackett, Stacy Kostiuk, Sean
Kostiuk, Sam Kostiuk, Kendall Sackett and Cooper Sackett and also his
beloved cocker spaniel, Champ.

Visitation will be from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, February
25, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Cherryville.

Burial will follow in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
