Callie Whitmire Jr. was born on November 30, 1953.

He departed this life at 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at White Oak Manor, Shelby, NC. Callie was the son of the late Kelly and Lois Whitmire.
Callie worked for 48 years and retired from Milliken in Gaffney, SC. Callie loved spending time with his grandkids, going fishing, and chatting with friends and family. He was a faithful member of Ellis Chapel, were he served as a member of the senior choir.
Callie would want us to remember his smile, his laugh and know that he fought a good fight and is resting with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Turner.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories is his wife, Mary A. Whitmire of Shelby, NC; two daughters, Callie Whitmire and Lena Whitmire (Travis) both of Shelby, NC; one brother, Dannie Whitmire (Jessica) of Gaffney, SC; a stepson, Ronnie D. Potlow of Shelby, NC; eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 12 noon at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church.
