Conley L. Moffett, 80 passed peacefully into the of arms of Christ on Sunday, December 16, 2012
 
After graduating from high school, he joined the Army where he was a Jumpmaster, Medic and Airborne Ranger during the Korean War.
 
A graduate of Appalachian State Teacher’s College in biology, physics and chemistry, he taught At Ashley High School in Gastonia, N.C. before becoming North Carolina State Naturalist. Later
He joined the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service from which he retired as Assistant Deputy Director.
 
Conley’s life was centered on family, friends and a deep commitment to Christ. He was the
beloved husband of Frances Moffett and devoted father of Carol Moffett.
 
Memorial   gifts may be given to Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church building fund at
5725 Castlewellan   Drive, Kingstown, Va.    22315-5516
 
Funeral service will be Thursday, December 20, 2012, 2:00 PM at Cone Memorial Chapel of
Carpenter’s Funeral Home, Cherryville, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM to 1:45PM prior to the  service at the funeral home.
