Dale Keith Angel
Dale Keith Angel was placed on this earth October 1, 1962 and departed his earthly flesh and moved to his eternal home Sunday, September 20, 2015. He had made reservations for his eternal accommodations by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1986. His soul lay in wait for his ride home at Carolinas HealthCare System - Cleveland and when God's appointed time came he made his trip to this heavenly home to be with Jesus forevermore. Lying in wait to greet him were his twin babies he never met, his mother Betty Upton Angel, his father William Hugh Angel and his father in love Don Whitaker.
Dale leaves behind to celebrate his home going yet mourn the loss of the huge void his departed earthly body are his soulmate and love of his life for twenty-five years Katrina Whitaker Angel, the precious children their union God chose to bless with and of whom he was extremely proud, Hanna Elizabeth Angel, Harley Jean Angel and Haven LeeAnn Angel of Lawndale.
Dale is also survived by his brother whom he loved dearly and his family, James David Angel, wife Angela and daughters Taylor Angel and Haley Hoyle and spouse Chris, their children Lily and Landrey; brothers in love Brian Whitaker and Wesley Whitaker of Casar and his children Lacy Sparks and spouse Daniel and daughter Ella of Shelby, Skylar, Kelsey, and Sophie Whitaker of Casar and mother in love Judy Whitaker of Lawndale, a grandmother in love, Elsie Whitaker with whom when he visited would greet her with "Hey Good Lookin". He will also be terribly missed by the family pet, Banjo an English Blue Tick.
Dale worked numerous jobs in his life beginning with the city of Cherryville as a young man. He also worked at Broughton Hospital where he would jokingly tell people "I had a key" and at the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Dale also volunteered his time and talent to the Life Enrichment Center and Hospice Cleveland County.
Dale was called to preach in 1987 and surrendered to the call and educated himself in the ministry at Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and Gardner Webb University. He followed God's call and accepted the pastorate at Bristol Drive Baptist Church, Statesville, New Buffalo Baptist Church, Grover and Westover Baptist Church, Kings Mountain.
He had numerous lifelong friends and was an avid cyclist, having cycled across Switzerland and North Carolina. He loved travel and had the privilege to preach from a boat on the Sea of Galilee to the passengers. He loved hiking with his daughters and instilled in them a love of hard work and "just do right". He had the honor and privilege of leading to the Lord and baptizing all three of his children. His famous words during his sermons were "I hope that one day my daughters can walk by my casket and say our daddy loved God and his family." To Dale's Credit and mercy of Jesus Christ this has come to be true.

The funeral service with be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, at First Baptist Church - Cherryville, with the Revs. Dr. Vince Hefner, Bobby Holtsclaw, and Jerry Allen officiating.
The burial will follow in the Friendly Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
