Dock Gerald Smith, 73, a native of Casar, joined his beloved wife Martha McDaniel Smith in heaven  on Thursday, November 23, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital in Columbus.

Mr. Smith was born in Cleveland County on December 16, 1938 to the late Vance Andrew Smith and Junie Mae Wilson Smith.  He was retired from Lowman Brothers and was also a bulldozer operator.  Dock was also a member of Casar Baptist Church and had served in the US Army.

In addition to his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Henry Smith, Hazel Smith, and Alfred Manley Smith; and sister, Iva Smith Towery.

Dock is survived by his daughter Elizabeth June Smith of Boone; and three sisters, Lucy Ledford of Morganton, Hilda White of West Virginia, and Barbara Ann Greene of Shelby.

Visitation: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Casar Baptist Church.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Tuesday at Casar Baptist Church

Officiating: Rev. Doug Pruett and Rev. Carrell Pruette

Burial: Casar Baptist Church Cemetery
