Dwight Hamrick Cabaniss, 56, of 132 Cabaniss Farm Drive, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at home.  A native of Cleveland County he was the son of Bob and Mary Helen Hamrick Cabaniss and was preceded in death by his father Bob Cabaniss.  Mr. Cabaniss was recently retired from Lowes Inc. after 35 years of service.  He was a member of Zion Baptist Church.  He enjoyed attending his children’s sporting and school events and took great joy in spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Cabaniss is survived by his mother, Mary Helen Cabaniss of Shelby; his loving wife Mary and children Brannon, Curtis, and Carrie, all of Shelby; brother, Dick Cabaniss, wife Jenny, and their children, Katie, Ben, and Claire and brother Tim Cabaniss, wife Cindy, and their children, Mary Elizabeth Johnson and husband Brandon, and son Jim, all of Shelby.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, November 11, 2011 at Zion Baptist Church.  Dr. Danny West will be officiating.  A gathering of friends and family will follow the service in the Family Life Center of the church.  At other times the family will be at the home.
