Eula Inez Mew Britt, 99, of Hospice at Wendover, passed away peacefully on Friday August 3, 2013.  Eula was born on November 15, 1913 in Horry County South Carolina to the late Epedell and James M Mew.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband F.G. Britt of Charlotte, North Carolina and a son Clemson Edward Britt. 

She was retired after many years from Montaldo's in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. While living in Charlotte she was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter Marilyn Smouther and husband Herbert of Moriah, North Carolina and a son B.K. Britt and wife Joyce of Fort Myers, Florida, two sisters; Shirley Mew of Atlanta, Georgia and Doris Thompkins of High Point, North Carolina and one brother William Mew of Casselberry, Florida.

Eula was blessed to have 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren that all were the joy of her life especially in her later years.

Eula had many special gifts and will forever be remembered for her determination and enduring love for her family.

The family gratefully acknowledges the kindness and generosity of the staff of Hospice House at Wendover.

Visitation:  5~7 p.m. Sunday August 4 at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston, North Carolina

Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday August 5 at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte, North Carolina
