SHELBY- Mrs. Evelyn Jones Williams, 82, of 304 Grice Street, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at Wendover Hospice. A native of Cherokee County, SC, she was born July 30, 1930, daughter of the late Ruben Gyte and Sara Wilma Proctor Jones.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Williams; one sister, Molly Foster; one brother, James Jones; two grandchildren, Ryan O’Neal Williams and Karen Elaine Hayes.

SURVIVED: She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Williams and Tim Williams and wife Teresa; two daughters, Pam Hayes and husband Rev. Jeff Hayes and Audrey Hedgepeth and husband Billy all of Shelby; two sisters, Peggy Hamrick of North Augusta, SC and Sib Nelson of Blythewood, SC; two brothers, Harry Jones of Nevada and Dean Jones of Travelers Rest, SC; nine grandchildren, Chad Hayes, Jennifer Edwards, Michelle Mertz, Sarah Hayes, Susan Hayes, Elizabeth Williams, Madison Hedgepeth, Harley Mertz, Landon Mertz; four great grandchildren, Cassidy Hayes, Karson Smart, Michaela Edwards, and Rylee Winstead; and a very special friend of the family, Charles Sanders.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Thursday, 2:00 pm at First Wesleyan of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday, 6-8:00 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby and other times at her home at 304 Grice Street.

CLERGY: Revs. Eddie Gray and Jeff Hayes will be officiating.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
