Mr. Frank Bowling, 73, died Saturday, March 6, 2011 after an extended illness, at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Hiram and Frances Putnam Bowling. Frank was of the Baptist Faith. He loved his wife, kids, and grandkids very much. He also enjoyed gardening.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Max P. “Bud” Bowling and Michael Bowling Sr.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ruby Hammette Bowling, of the home; two sons, Russell Bowling of Greenwood, SC and Robert Bowling of Boiling Springs; daughter Reaca Goodson and husband Michael of Lincolnton; sister Jane Norman and husband Bill of Shelby; brother Tommy Bowling and wife Susie of Shelby; five grandchildren, Derek Bowling and wife Amber of Augusta, Ga, Gina Bowling of Greenwood, SC, Elie Bowling and Erica Bowling, both of Shelby, and Kristen Gettys of Lincolnton; two great grandchildren, Aiden and Abigail Bowling; and former daughter in law, Jan Bowling of Greenwood.

SERVICES: Memorial service will be held, 7pm, March 8, 2011, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends an hour before the service.

CLERGY: Rev. Eddie Gray will be officiating.
