Mr. George "Duck" Jarrett, 81 of Cherryville passed away on Saturday, April
2, 2016 at his residence.

Born August 5, 1934 in Gaston County, he was a son of the late Jesse Lester
Jarrett and Pauline "Polly" Black Jarrett Sweatt. He was owner and operator
of the Shake Shop. Duck also served in the US Army.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene
Jarrett and Jesse "Bud" Jarrett.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Alma McSwain Jarrett of the
home; a daughter, Cindy Pace of Florida and a son, Kyle Jarrett of Vale;
brother, Tommy Sweatt of Lincolnton; a sister, Carol S. Roberts of
Cherryville; four grandchildren, Josh Jarrett, Brett Hawkins, Sarah Pace and
Chris Leonell.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM, Tuesday at the City Memorial
Cemetery with Rev. Randy Hefner officiating.
