On November 24, 2023, Gwendolyn Kay Rabb Ledford, aged 58, peacefully departed at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on April 26, 1965, in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Ray Rabb and Carol Griffin Rabb. Gwen devoted her life to New Bethel Church of Shelby, where she was a steadfast and lifelong member. Over her 30-year working career, she contributed to PPG and later Atrium Health in Shelby. Apart from her professional pursuits, Gwen embraced her artistic side, enjoyed country music, cherished beach outings, and proudly supported the Green Bay Packers. She leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment to family and faith.

Gwen is survived by her husband of 22 years, Michael "Mike" Ledford, sons Caleb Smith (Ashlee) of Shelby, Cody Smith (Brooklyn), of Lincolnton, and two grandchildren, Julian and Lyra. Also left to cherish her memory are her brother Keith Rabb (Lori) and sister, Wanda Fishbach (Fred) as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends Rebecca, Casey and Tina.

The family will receive friends 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at New Bethel Church with Rev. Mark Patchett officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Sunset Cemetery.
