Mr. James “Jimmy” Lester Williams, Jr., 57, of 116 Owl Holler Road in Canton, died on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Mission St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville.  A native of Cleveland County, NC, he is the son of James Lester, Sr.  and Betty Sue Shull Williams.  He was a member of  North Lafayette Street Baptist Church and loved being outdoors, particularly fishing.  The loves of his life were his children and family.  He was employed by Conmet, working in production.

Mr. Williams is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene; by sons, Doug Williams of Charlotte, Kyle Williams of Shelby, by daughter, Adrienne Shade and husband Curtis of Greenville, SC; stepdaughter, Kelly Profitt of Shelby, NC; Stepson, Allen Gamble of Shelby, NC; Sisters, Carolyn Panther and husband Rick of Shelby; Beverly Henderson and husband Todd of Shelby; Jessica Thomas and  husband Chris of Shelby, Bobbie Jo Kale and husband Mike of Shelby; Grandchildren, Brandon Williams of Newton, NC; Madison Williams of Greenville, SC; Kaleb Bright of Shelby, NC; Step-Grandchildren, Jada and Tyler Goudelock, both of Shelby.

A visitation will be held for Mr. Williams on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM  at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby.  A funeral celebrating the life of Mr. Williams will be held in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Kenneth Morrison officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby.  At all other times, the family will be at the home of Carolyn Panther, 1929 Pleasant Hill Church Road; Shelby, NC 28152.
