James Walter Underwood, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 52 on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Rosemarie E. Koberna Underwood and the late James Willard Underwood. James will be remembered as a loving son, father and brother. As a skilled machinist, he worked at Parker Hannifin for over 30 years.

In addition to his mother, Jimmy is survived by his daughter Ashley Underwood Jones (Brandon), sister Deborah Underwood Self, his loving nieces Marisa Self, Alexandra Self Dellinger (Cody), Lydia Hauser (Jamison), great nephew Wesley Dellinger.

To honor the life of Jimmy, the family will hold a celebration of life service on Friday, April 19, 2024 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Rev. Richard Stroup officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
