Jimmy Dean Gaddy, 78, of Kings Mountain, NC, entered his Heavenly Home on August 19, 2024 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC.

He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Jack and Lona Mae Pearson Gaddy and was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Sandra Marlow and Martha Ann Johnston. He was also preceded in death by a great-great grandson, Carter Dean. Jimmy attended Christian Freedom Baptist Church for years. He worked in a machine shop in Gastonia for more than 30 years. After leaving his chosen career, Jimmy worked for many years in the sanitation department of the City of Kings Mountain, where he retired. Jimmy was known for cutting a rug, especially when it involved shagging. He cleared many dance floors throughout the years with his skilled dancing. He enjoyed fishing and loved to go deep sea fishing in his early years. Jimmy loved taking his family camping and was a talented singer. He sang in a gospel group and enjoyed entertaining others with his voice. Jimmy was a wonderful dad and loving grandfather to 3 generations of his grandchildren. He will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him.

Grandchildren: Mindy, Megan, Nikki, and Emily
Great Grandchildren: Like, Kayla, Hunter, Samantha, Dakota, Tucker, and Garrison
Great-Great Grandchild: Preston
Sister: Joy Brown and husband Rocky

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mike Chambers officiating

VISITATION: Friday, August 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
