 Mr. John Woodrow “J.W.” Dellinger, 88, of 2429 Cherryville Rd., Cherryville, NC, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010. Services were held at First United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Mr. Dellinger served our country in the U.S. Army-– WWII.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pressley C. Dellinger; his mother, Amanda Randall Dellinger; 1 sister, Pearle Hord; and 1 brother, Percy Dellinger.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Evelyn Inman Dellinger of the home; 1 step-son, Warren L. Hyman of Silver Springs, FL; 2 step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: First United Methodist Church, 601 N. Pink St., Cherryville, NC 28021.
