Kaye Allen Upton, 80, of Shelby, NC, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on March 12.

Born on May 6, 1944, Kaye was the daughter of the late Herman and Vernie Allen. She retired from Ticona Industries, where she worked as a production planner. Kaye was a devoted wife to her late husband, Jim Upton, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years. She was a loving mother to Angela McKee (Steve) and Kelly Upton (Stephanie). Her greatest joy was her family, especially her cherished grandchildren: Mariah Hardin (Logan), Marcus McKee (Kayla Pittman), Austin McKee (Taylor Canipe), Carter Vincent (Abby Nyberg), and Spencer Upton, as well as her beloved great-grandchild, Avery Hardin. She is also survived by her brother, Roland Allen (Ellen), and her nieces and nephews: Emily Leeder (Glenn), Bryan Allen (Heather), Lance Frady (Caroline), and Leah Wray (Johnny). In addition to her husband and parents, Kaye was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Columbus and Viola Johnson; her sister-in-law, Norma Frady (Mike). A faithful member of Zoar Baptist Church, Kaye found strength in her faith and the love of her church community and Sunday School Class. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate Hospice staff at VIA Health Partners for their care and support. Kaye will be lovingly remembered for her unwavering faith, devotion to her family, and the kindness she shared with all who knew her.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A graveside service celebrating Kaye's life will be held on March 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Patterson Springs Baptist Church.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the cemetery

INTERMENT: Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Grover, North Carolina

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice or VIA Health Partners of Cleveland County.
