Kenneth Ray Hartman
Kenneth Ray Hartman, 86, of 1021-B Leisure Leigh Lane, Cherryville passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville.
Born August 6, 1928 in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Dock Hartman and Dela McSwain Hartman. He retired as owner of Ken's Carports and Storage Buildings. Mr. Hartman was a member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church, served as a Gideon for 35 years and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Hull Hartman; five brothers, Bynum Hartman, Blanch Hartman, Charlie Hartman, Roy Hartman and James Hartman and two sisters, Elva Hallman and Mary Ellen Beck.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Byers Hartman; son, K.C. Hartman of Newton; two daughters, Robin Renae Hartman of Newton and Dona Price Hartman of Tennessee; one grandson, Matthew Truelove; two stepsons, Dan Houser and Bill Houser and two sisters, Nelda Costner and Ruth Lewis both of Cherryville.
Visitation: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Wednesday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 3:00 PM, Wednesday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel
Officiating: Rev. Bill Sigmon
Burial: will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston
