L.A. Willis, 86, of 9545 Mull Road, Vale, passed away Saturday, August 13,
2016 at his home.

He was born in Lincoln County on May 5, 1930, to the late Arlandis "Lannie"
Willis and Hattie Minnie Rosalee Costner Willis. He was retired from
Hickory Leather.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Laura
Workman Willis; two sons, Bud Shull and Hugh Shull; grandson, Keith
Rudisill; son-in-law, Earl W. Rudisill; three brothers, Dwight Willis, A.R.
Willis, and Irdell Willis; and sister, Pearl Sigmon.

He is survived by two daughters, Kitty Barrett & Robby Hicks of Lawndale and
Margaret Rudisill of Vale; two sons, Rick Willis and Wade Willis both of
Catawba County; brother, C.W. Willis; four sisters, Muriel W. Saine of Vale,
Ruby W. Cook of Lawndale, Nell W. Yarbro of Vale and Mae Benfield of
Hickory; eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and two great
great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:30PM to 8:30PM at
Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston. Condolences may be made online at

The graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 4:00PM at Laurel Hill
United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Cathy Turman officiating.
