Lena Moore Kale
Tuesday, August 19, 2014 3:17 pm Lena Moore Kale, 89, of 401 N. Morgan Street, passed away Saturday August 16, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was born June 24, 1925, daughter of the late William Plato and Kathleen Blanton Moore. She was a member of Lafayette Street United Methodist Church. She was best known as the “Toy Lady” from where she worked at Blanton’s Toy House for 31 years. PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jack B. “Pete” Kale; and a baby brother and sister. SURVIVED: She is survived by two sons, Jack Kale and wife Nina of Gastonia, Butch Kale and wife Tammy of Blacksburg; two daughters, Joan Allen of Shelby, Linda Brewer and husband Dave of Taylors, SC; one brother, Ted Moore and wife Anne of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; nine grandchildren, Lance and Bryan Kale, Carissa Morris, Bo Allen, LeAnn Barnette, Cindy Davis, Alyssa, Caitlyn, and Taylor Kale; eight Great Grandchildren; one great great grandchild. SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Saturday, 11:00 am at Lafayette Street United Methodist Church. VISITATION: No visitation will be held for Mrs. Kale. CLERGY: Rev. Arthur Holland. BURIAL: Burial will be private sometime before the service on Saturday.
