Leonard  Parker, 75, 8134 Will Hudson Rd , Lawndale, NC, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013, at Duke University Hospital.

He was born on January 6, 1938, in Cleveland Co., NC, to the late John Parker and Minnie Spake Parker.  Mr. Parker was retired from Carolina Freight Carriers as a dock worker and was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, farming and especially being outdoors.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Winman Parker and three sisters, Mozelle Wallace, Mary Lou Walker and Adene Stephens.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Bryte Newton Parker; son, Larry Parker, Jr. of Lawndale; daughter, Sandy Frady and husband, James of Lawndale; two grandchildren, Savannah Frady of Sacramento, CA and John Frady of Lawndale.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Olive Grove Baptist Church.

Funeral: 3:00 PM on Wednesday at Olive Grove Baptist Church
