GAFFNEY, SC - Lettie Scruggs Scruggs, 93, of Tiffany Park Circle, Gaffney, formerly of Ferry Road, Mooresboro, died on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Magnolia Assisted Living Center of Gaffney. A native of Cherokee County, SC, she was born on June 7, 1919, a daughter of the late Banks and Sufonia McCraw Scruggs. She worked as a teacher in the public school system and retired from Harris Elementary School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Cliffside where she served as a former Sunday School Teacher, member of the Mission Action Team, and on the Building and Grounds Committee.
 
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Scruggs; three brothers, June Scruggs, Tom Scruggs and Claude Scruggs; three sisters, Marie Nolan, Lucy Martin and Clara Parris.
 
She is survived by her son, Jackie Scruggs and wife Rebecca of Cliffside; one grandson, Cody Scruggs of Cliffside.
 
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Frashier and Rev. Dale Welch officiating. Entombment will follow in the Scruggs Family Mausoleum in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral Home.
