Linda Wray Morrow Vallecillo, age 81, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026 at her home.
Linda was born Monday, September 25, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late Elmer Morrow and Laura Warlick Morrow. She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School, class of 1962. Linda served honorably as a Personnel Specialist in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War. She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed arts and crafts, traveling and cooking a wide variety of delicious meals for her family and friends. She also loved finding good deals at yard sales. Jokingly, she had spent twenty-five years planning to have her own yard sale. Linda was a past member of Alexander Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Jose Vallecillo; brothers, Charles, Jack, Joe and Jerry Morrow; sisters, Irene Splawn, Ruth Moore, Betty Bostic, Martha McDaniel, Rosie Bridges, Rebecca Davis and Donna Roach.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, James Scott Vallecillo (Shelley) of Rutherfordton, Andrew Paul Vallecillo of Forest City and Robert Christopher Vallecillo; sister, Susie Dycus of Forest City; niece, Nancy Splawn of Forest City; grandchildren, Joseph, Caleb, Jackson, Jessica, Kevin, Garrett, Kat; and nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 on Saturday, July 25th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home.
