Martha Rebecca “MeMaw” Leigh Weaver age 76, died November 21, 2014 at Peak Resources in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on March 3, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Walter William and Martha Lane Blanton Leigh. Becky was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and a former member of Eastside Baptist Church. Becky formerly worked at Fiber Industries and retired from Allied Signal as a lab tech. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed cooking for her family and church. She was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren’s sporting events.

Becky is survived by her husband of 47 years, Harold Weaver; a son, Ronnie Dedmon and wife Susan of Shelby; two step-sons, Dennis Weaver and wife Sharon of Weaverville and Rick Weaver and wife Kathy of Concord; two sisters, Maxine Wood of Columbia SC, and Anita Davis and husband Paul of Monticello Ga.; four brothers, Ronald Leigh and wife Helen of Savannah Ga., Faron Leigh of Greensboro, David Leigh and wife Sharon of Shelby, and Kevin Leigh and wife Edie of Woodruff SC.; eight grandchildren, Austin Dedmon, Alexandra Dedmon, Avery Dedmon, Drew Weaver, Andy Weaver, Emily Weaver, Jonathan Weaver, and Julia Weaver; and one great grandson, Kylen Dedmon.; sister-in-law, Carolyn DeBrew of Shelby, NC.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Oliver and Dr. Harold Fite officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
