Mrs. Mary Ellen Brewer Weathers, 88, of Shelby, NC, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010. Services were held at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Ross Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Mrs. Weathers was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Marvin Weathers; her parents, James Ellis Brewer and Ellen Victoria Auton Brewer; 1 daughter, Lynda Price Dover; 1 son, Mike Charles Weathers; 3 step-children, Carl Weathers, Ed Weathers and Gerry Weathers Jackson; and her brothers and sisters, Addie Ballard, Hazel Black, J.D. Brewer, Paul Brewer, Bryte Hurst and Lula Summey.

She is survived by 1 daughter-in-law, Sandra Weathers of Morganton; 4 grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Ben Brewer, Bill Brewer, Virginia Paysour and Betty Woody of Dallas, Adrian Brewer of Lincolnton, Mollie Spivey of Lowell and Jack Brewer of Shelby; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice at Wendover, 953 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
