Mattie Bell Towery Lail, 98 of Casar Road, Lawndale passed away, Tuesday,
February 12, 2019 at Atrium Health - Cleveland.

Born October 24, 1920 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late
John O. Towery and Notra H. Towery. She was a homemaker and a member of
Zoar Baptist Church, Casar, where she was a Sunday school teacher in her
earlier years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester
Junior Lail; son, Phillip Lail; great grandson, Alexander A. Lail; sister,
Fannie McCombes and three brothers, Junie Towery, Ralph Towery and Cecil
Towery and a daughter-in-law, Rachel Lail.

Survivors include two sons, Conley Lail of Conover and Arnold Lail and wife,
Helen of Williamsburg, VA; a daughter-in-law, Carlostine "Tina" Lail of
Lawndale; a brother, Willie "Bill" Towery of Lawndale; six grandchildren,
Arnette Ottey and husband, James of Barhamsuville, VA; Paula Cirnigliaro and
husband, Sal of Hudson, Fl; Notra Lail Porter and husband, Brandon of New
Bern, NC; Michael Lail and wife, Sabrina of Charlotte; Jason Lail and wife,
Alannah of Lawndale; Courtney Biddy and husband, Randy of Lawndale; ten
great-grandchildren, PA Christina and Dr. Steven Hunley of Williamsburg, VA;
Tiffany Vaugh and husband, Justin of Midlothian, VA; Domique, Brittany and
Alexis Cirnigliaro of Hudson, Florida; Stephen and Jacob Lail of Charlotte;
Aria Porter of New Bern; Abigail and Amelia May Lail of Lawndale; four
great-great grandchildren, Ayra and Kennedy Vaugh and Alexander and
Christian Hunley and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral
Home.

A funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home
Chapel.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
