 Maurice Laxton Houser, 90, of Cliffside, NC passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012. Services were held at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Mooresboro. Burial was held in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Mr. Houser served our country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Bridges Houser; Tilden and Essie Ramsey Houser; four brothers, Ealon Houser, Lee Houser, Yates Houser and Huland Houser and  one sister, Hetty Price. 

He is survived by his special friend and companion, Sue Frye of Cliffside; his sons, Larry Houser and wife Shirley of Cliffside, Cecil Houser and wife Rheata; David Houser and Sheree Dotson of Earl and Phillip Houser and wife Kathy of Cliffside; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 1301 Mount Pleasant Church Rd., Mooresboro, NC 28114.
