Mr. Maurice “Marty” Allen, 50, of 2921 Highland Circle, died Sat., Mar. 31, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.  A native of Cleveland Co., he is the son Marvin and Joann McSwain Allen of Shelby.  He was of the Lutheran faith. 

PRECEDED: He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Estelle McSwain and Andrew and Estelle Alllen; and a uncle, Dean McSwain.

SURVIVED: He is survived by the mother of his children, Shelley Thomas Allen; son, Wesley Ryan Allen; daughter, Taylor Marie Allen, all of Pittsboro; sister, Susan A. Tapp of Shelby; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

SERVICES: Tuesday, 11am, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
