Brenda Spake lives at 114 McDowell Street in Shelby. Her home was in great need of some repairs and the roof was leaking. To her rescue and surprise, Mission Serve came to help. Mission Serve goes everywhere and their mission is to "help thy neighbor". Their crew will be in Shelby for a week and will get the job done. Former Shelby Mayor Ted Alexander contacted them and made it possible for Brenda to receive her much needed help.
Mission Serve strengthens neighborhoods and improves the lives of individuals by eliminating sub-standard housing through volunteerism and community involvement. They strongly believe that it is through changing the world of the volunteer that the world itself will be changed.
