Cherryville - Mrs. Norma Baxter Brown, 86, passed away on Wednesday,
September 5, 2018 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center in Shelby.

Mrs. Brown was born on January 13, 1932 in Lincoln County, NC a daughter of
the late Ben Frank Baxter and Neva Hoyle Baxter. She was retired as an
accountant from Rochling Engineered Plastics. Mrs. Brown was a lifelong
member of Bess Chapel United Methodist Church where she served in many
capacities over the years including, pianist, Sunday school teacher and
president of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Pilot
Club International, National Association of Accountants and the Humane
Society.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Guy
Dwight Brown; a daughter and son-in-law Annette and Blair Eaker and a
sister, Leona Baxter.

Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Larry Baxter and wife
Phyllis of Cherryville; a nephew, Brent Baxter and wife Lisa of Cherryville;
a niece Amanda Baxter Carr and husband Curtis of Richmond, Virginia; great
nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Baxter, Ben Baxter both of Cherryville;
Caitlin Carr of Amman , Jordan; Baxter Carr of Washington, D.C. and Harrison
Carr of Blacksburg, Virginia.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 4:30PM at
Bess Chapel United Methodist Church in Cherryville with the Revs. Alice Day
and Wade Dellinger officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
