Born April 25, 1925 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Otis Parker and Minnie Lindsay Parker. He was retired from Southern Desk and was also a farmer. Mr. Parker was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Earlene Houser Parker; two sons, Ralph Parker, Jr. and Tom Parker; daughter, Juanita Parker; four brothers, Cecil, Cletus, Leroy and Howard Parker and a sister, Melissa Craig.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Parker and wife, Barbara and James Parker all of Vale; a daughter, Muriel Speagle and husband, Bill of Vale; daughter-in-law, Linda Parker of Hickory; brother, Ken Parker of Vale; two sisters, Grace Cline of Claremont and Mary Jane Edwards of Burnsville; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Vale.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Vale.
Officiating: Rev. Jeremy Mahaffey and Rev. Don Willis
Burial: Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, Vale
