Rev. James Ray Green, 67, of 214 Cline Street, Lawndale, was called home to

be with the Lord, Monday, June 11, 2012 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

Born June 15, 1944 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Hackett

Franklin Green and Agnes Mae Livertt Green.  Rev. Green served as pastor for

35 years for various churches in Cleveland, Burke, Haywood, Mitchell,

McDowell and Yancey Counties. Rev. Green was the pastor at Carswell Memorial

Baptist Church in Morganton for the last 17 years.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Newton Green of 49 years; son, Jimmy Green

of Lawndale; two grandchildren, Zach Green and Alex Green both of Spruce

Pine; brother, Allen Nelson Green of Forest City; and a sister, Julie Ann

Buff of Polkville.

Visitation: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Friday,  Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston.

Officiating: Revs. Raymond Whitfield and Ted Carswell

Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston
