Robert Joseph Pendleton, 81, of Oak Grove-Clover Hill Church Rd, Lawndale,
passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Hospice House of Rutherford
County in Forest City.

He was born in Cleveland County, on July 25, 1935 to the late Robert Paul
Pendleton and Mary Dee Gettys Pendleton. He was a retired barber and apple
farmer and member of Polkville United Methodist Church. Mr. Pendleton also
served in the US Army.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Kay Frances
Laughter Pendleton; daughter, Dianne Lynn Pendleton and brother, Dill Kay
Pendleton.

He is survived by his two daughters, Cindy Pendleton and Sandra Robertson
and husband, Paul both of Marion; grandson, Gavin Duckworth and wife, Lauren
of Morganton; two granddaughters, Megan Binder and husband, Eric, of Groton,
MA and Alexis Robertson of Marion; two brothers, Dale Pendleton and wife,
Ann of Shelby and Rev. Keys Pendleton and wife, Becky of Lawndale; sister,
Gayla Hamby and husband, Wayne of Morganton and 3 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, Sunday in the church
fellowship hall. At other times the family will be at the home of Keys and
Becky Pendleton, 461 Oak Grove Clover Hill Church Road, Lawndale, NC.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, at Polkville United
Methodist Church with the Revs. Bill Lovelace, Keys Pendleton and Bruce
Marston officiating.

The burial will follow in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
